This nutritious and healthy recipe for Mexican-style tuna meatballs will be loved by the whole family. If you want a spicy flavor, just add chipotle peppers.
- 1kg fresh fish (tuna or bonito)
1 garlic clove
1/4 tablespoon oregano
1 teaspoon chopped coriander
2 mint leaves
4 tablespoons cooked rice
4 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 onion chopped
medium can of tomatoes
salt and pepper taste
- Optional: Add chipotle chili peppers for a spicier flavor.
Remove the bones, cut the fish into strips and mix with the chopped garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, coriander and mint.
Add rice to thicken the meat and form into balls.
Fry the tomatoes and onions and add boiling water. Turn the heat down to low and add the meatballs one at a time, arranging them so they don’t overlap, then cover the pot. Increase the heat again until it boils, then reduce to the lowest heat until cooked through.
option: You can also add potatoes, carrots and cut zucchini.
