Horchata – Mexican recipe

The horchata water is fresh, sweet, and cold, and you can never miss the spicy touch of cinnamon.

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 5 cups water
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla

Preparation:

Pour the rice and water into the blender container. Stir until rice begins to break up, about 1 minute. Let the rice and water stand at room temperature for at least 3 hours.

Strain the rice water into a jug and discard the rice.

Add the milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar to the rice water and stir. Cool, stir, then serve with ice.
