Traditionally, punch is served hot during the Christmas holidays. It is made with piloncillo and various fruits. This recipe is simplified.

material:
- 6 small apples (core, peel and slice)
- 12 guavas (cut in half)
- 1-1/4 cup raisins
- 1 cup chopped prunes
- 6 oranges, washed and cut (with skin)
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 6 1/2 liters of water
- 2 cups brown sugar or to taste
- taste rum
Preparation:
In a large saucepan over high heat, combine apples, guavas, raisins, plums, oranges, cinnamon, and water.
Bring fruit mixture to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for 1 hour.
Add sugar, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. Add the rum and simmer for another 5 minutes. Taste and add more sugar if necessary.
Serve hot punch.
