Super simple, this refreshing orange dessert is one of a kind and the perfect contrast to the heavier, spicy main courses.
material: For 4-6 people
- 6 oranges
- 1 lime
- 2 tablespoons tequila
- 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
- brown sugar of your choice
- Garnish with thinly sliced lime zest (see Suggestions)
Preparation:
Cut both ends of the orange with a sharp knife. Remove both the skin and white skin and peel well to maintain its shape.
Turn the orange on its side and cut it horizontally.
Place the slices in a non-metallic bowl. Cut the lime in half and squeeze it over the orange. Pour in the tequila and liqueur. Add sugar to taste.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Place the orange slices on a plate and garnish with the lime zest.
suggestion:
Finely peel the zest from the lime using a potato peeler.
Cut the skin into thin slices. Blanch for 2 minutes.
Drain in a colander and rinse under cold running water.
Drain again and dry with kitchen paper.
Garnish with orange or lemon zest in the same way.
