This is a Mexican recipe sent to me by Irma. Los cuernitos de nues is a typical Mexican sweet. Cuernito is easy and economical to prepare. The name comes from the small croissant shape.
material:
- 500 grams of flour
400 grams of butter
200g icing or powdered sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
100g ground walnuts
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
sprinkle powdered sugar
Preparation:
Cream the butter well until fluffy. Add sugar and continue whisking. Add eggs, vanilla and walnuts and mix everything well. Sift the flour and baking powder and add to the previous mixture.
Mix by hand until you have a dough that doesn’t stick to your fingers. Place the dough in a ziplock bag (plastic bag) and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Take the small corners, shape them and place them on a greased and floured tray. The corners will grow a little, so leave some space between them.
Preheat the oven and bake over medium heat until the bottom is golden brown, about 10 minutes.
Remove and cool on a rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
