Strawberry Atole - Mexican Recipe

Strawberry Atole – Mexican Recipe

Atole is a drink thickened with masa gallina, corn flour, or cornstarch and sweetened with piloncillo (unrefined sugar). It is the base for a variety of Mexican drinks and desserts.

This atole is flavored with cinnamon, but you can also add a little mint. The one flavored with chocolate is called champurrado.

material:

  • 1 liter of milk.
  • 1 can of evaporated milk.
  • 200 g of natural or frozen strawberries.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (cornstarch)
  • 1 cinnamon pod
  • Sugar as you like

Preparation:

Wash the strawberries thoroughly and mix without adding cinnamon.

Place the strawberries in a container and heat over low heat. Add cinnamon and sugar and stir until boiling.

Meanwhile, dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of water without leaving any lumps.

Heat the cornstarch with the strawberries, add the milk and stir constantly over medium heat until thickened.

We recommend serving it warm.
